McBride "Laughs" on Tour and Releases New Album

his country star will extend her “Waking Up Laughing” tour to outdoor venues this summer in more than 25 amphitheatres. She will start this outdoor outing in Clarkston, MI, on July 11. Newcomers Chris Young and Jason Michael Carroll will perform in the opening slots. The tour will conclude in West Palm Beach, FL on October 11.

he Grammy-winning country singer has a new album and DVD on the way: “Martina McBride: Live in Concert.” Eight songs were recorded for the live CD. It was recorded in Illinois in 2007. The PBS television series, Great Performances, aired this film. The 20-song concert features many of her hits, as well as a cover of Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believing” and her finale of “Over the Rainbow.”

Martina’s Busy Summer

Although noticeably absent from the Stagecoach Country Music Festival in Indio, CA, in early May, Martina McBride has a full summer touring roster ahead of her.

McBride is taking part in Live Nation’s Country Mega Ticket 2008 tour with support from Jack Ingram and Jason Michael Carroll on some dates, and Chris Young on others. Some notable stops on the tour include: First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre in Chicago, Nissan Pavilion in Bristow,Virginia, and Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in Charlotte, NC.

Martina’s tour extends well into October so you’ll have plenty of chances to catch her live!
